The hobby of baseball card collecting over the years...

The hobby of baseball card collecting has been around since baseball first started whether they came out of cigarrette packs to current cards with game worn and autographs on them.  Almost everyone can remember when they were a  young boy or girl begging there parents to buy them some baseball cards.  Back when I was a kid the craze was for the Ken Griffey Jr. UD rookie card.  This was the year Upper Deck was introduced to this great hobby and took a great risk at putting Griffey JR. as there first ever card issued numbered 1.  As you all know it turned out to be one of the biggest and most profitable decisions ever made in this hobby and one that even to this day is one of the most collectible cards ever produced.  The hobby has seen its fair share of ups and downs over the years but was brought back to life thanks to the creation of the game used and autograph insert cards.  Thanks to the clever marketing campaigns of Topps, Donruss, and Upper Deck baseball card collectors couldnt get enough of these kinds of cards and the chance to own a piece of history from rookies, young and veteran superstars and even hall of famers like Babe Ruth.  This was the reason why I got hooked on this hobby was the chance to own a piece of game used bat or game worn jersey or even an auto of players like Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, and Lou the first iron man of baseball Gehrig.  The pieces of game used cards keep getting bigger and more rare year after year highlighting one of 2008 Topps products that features a jumbo game worn patch of the all star game logo from the 2008 All Star game and its autographed as well.  There is no better time for someone to get into this hobby than right now with all the opportunity to own incredible pieces of histories from past Legends and current superstars at an affordable price.
